Reprise to capture a demo or create an interactive product tour by either creating a sandbox version of your front-end (similar to screen recording software) or by capturing individual screens in your own application as well as any other complementary application or website.<\/p>\n<h3>What Is It Used For?<\/h3>\n<p>Reprise is used by sales and marketing to create:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Customized demos for sales departments.<\/li>\n<li>Demos for marketing purposes.<\/li>\n<li>Product tours and walkthroughs.<\/li>\n<li>Onboarding and instructional videos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Who is Reprise for?<\/h3>\n<p>Reprise focuses on enterprise-level companies that want to create demos to show their prospects. Reprise is code-free, which enables both sales and marketing teams to create their own custom demos without assistance from the development team. To access it, install the Chrome Extension of the Reprise app or use the Reprise dashboard.<\/p>\n<p>Using this feature users do not record the application but instead, capture individual screens in the app or website (similar to screengrabs on your desktop computer or phone). Users can click around on the page and feel as though they are actually interacting with the real product. With Advanced Capture, it\u2019s possible to capture multiple applications in order to tell a story, show product interplay, or demo integrations. Let\u2019s dive in.<\/p>\n<h3>What We Didn\u2019t Like About Reprise<\/h3>\n<h4>The Learning Curve<\/h4>\n<p>While Reprise is code-free, it\u2019s not as simple to use as purported. Undoing actions and mistakes are difficult, and it\u2019s hard to go back and fix mistakes once they\u2019ve been made. The features themselves require a lot of cognitive work to understand. Even the simplest actions (like making text \u201cbold\u201d) take a lot of trial and error. It doesn\u2019t help that Reprise uses its own jargon, which makes it hard to follow.<\/p>\n<p>The average salesperson will have a hard time creating a demo or product tour without guidance and support from someone who really understands the software.<\/p>\n<h4>Reprise Does Not Offer a Native Meeting Platform<\/h4>\n<p>Seems to us that It\u2019s also not possible to add video or voice chat during the demo, which makes their demos much less engaging (and harder to follow). Without these human touches, the end results feel like little more than free screen recording apps.<\/p>\n<h4>The UI\/UX<\/h4>\n<p>It&#8217;s easy to say that Rreprise&#8217;s UI\/UX isn&#8217;t very good.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re not fans of the dark and uninviting UX of the Reprise website. The Dark mode is very problematic; some of the buttons disappear, so that top \u201cactions\u201d resemble tags, and settings in the sidebars disappear. Parsing a new screen has a lag time of 5-10 seconds, which is frustrating when you are creating several demos to show different clients.<\/p>\n<h3>What We Liked About Reprise<\/h3>\n<p>Reprise enables users to create asynchronous demos without any coding or design knowledge. It\u2019s a way for prospects to gain a \u201cfeel\u201d for the product by pressing buttons and exploring various screens without the risk of things going wrong. Sales reps and marketers can create a personalized experience for every client and steer them directly to the all-important \u201cAha!\u201d moment of discovery. However, none of this is revolutionary since many of Reprise&#8217;s competitors offer similar features.<\/p>\n<h4>The Extension Tool<\/h4>\n<p>It seems that the Reprise extension tool works well. You can set a delay of 5 seconds or 10 seconds before the recording starts to set the stage and minimize editing times. The page names are the default screen names, and the tool keeps capturing as you click through the page instead of going to the default view. When you are done capturing a site, you can see everything you\u2019ve captured by clicking on the \u201cShow All\u201d button.<\/p>\n<h2>Summary<\/h2>\n<p>Although Reprise seems to provide a decent ability to create product demos quickly and easily, it doesn&#8217;t really stand out as innovative or groundbreaking when compared to other solutions on the market as a whole.
